Our Surrogate Puppy

David's parents recently bought this little guy. He is a chiuaua/terrier mix, but looks a lot like a dachshund. His name is Paco and we love him. He gets so excited to see us when we come to visit.

Paco likes:
- To chew/tug on his toy rope
- run in circles then dive into David's lap
- Play fetch
- Snuggle

Paco dislikes:
- Going up or down stairs
- Being outside alone
- His Collar

David's mom likes that we come to visit more often without her having to entice us.

Blogging Again

So I'm going to try getting back into blogging again. We lasted so long the first time. Ha ha. The problem is we don't have any kids to blog about so I'm not too sure what we will have to say on this blog, but stay tuned because there might be a good story or event in the future. I'm still tinkering with the look as well.

Home Sweet Home

In our last few days in Costa Rica, we got to go raft down the river Naranjo. The highlight of the river trip was at the end when we passed by a construction crew gathering materials from the river. We passed right under a backhoe that dumped a full load of water right on us! After our travels, we spent a few short days in Arizona for the open house. We loved Costa Rica, but we were also excited to return home to the United States (it must be the root beer).
Back in Provo, we opened all the gifts and cards from the Salt Lake reception and packed them into our civic. Currently, the gifts are scattered around the house which is in desperate need of a cleaning. I started my job at the hospital as a phlebotomist and have been working nights in 12-hour shifts. It's going very well and I'm getting back in the rhythm of using needles.
Heather is still working at Hallmark and finishing her online New Testament course.

Honeymoon - Costa Rica Part IV

The other day we took a horseback tour up to these magnificent waterfalls. There were about 15 people all together on this tour. My horse's name was Belin and David's was named Pompeye. These horses had attitudes and egos. My horse definitely thought that it was superior to David's horse. Belin made sure that Pompeye stayed behind him. If Pompeye got too close to Belin, Belin would kick him. One of the times that Belin kicked Pompeye David's foot also got kicked. Luckily David's foot was covered by the stirrup so he did not get hurt.
The hike up to the waterfalls is on the steep slopes and narrow winding trails. I'm glad we didn't try to walk to the waterfalls. The horses were so good with walking up the steep trails, through the mud, and with crossing the rivers.
Half way to the waterfalls we stopped for breakfast that the tour provides. They have a pet Toucan named Tito. David and I both got to feed the Toucan out of our hands as he sat on our arms. The tour guides also have these pets that are the second largest rodents on earth but we can't remember what they are called.
The waterfalls were amazing. There were two sets. One was on a higher level and fed into the lower ones that we were at. We climbed up on the waterfall and jumped off the rocks. It was really fun. Our tour guides climbed up the face of the waterfall about 20 feet up and made it so we could climb up there with them and jump off. One of the guides did a back flip off of the waterfall. Then the tour guides climbed 30 feet above the water and did beautiful dives into the water.
On the way back you could tell that the horses were ready for our tour to be over because they were going a lot faster and would often break into a gallop. Half way back we stopped for the lunch that the tour provides. It was a lot of food.
The rest of the way back one of the Tour guides kept smacking David's horse in the rump to make him go faster which he would. Pompeye would start to gallop and Belin couldn't stand Pompeye being in front of him so then Belin would start to gallop. Then David and I would be racing each other. No worries though, Belin always won.
At the end of the tour we were glad we went and had a lot of fun, but we were also sore from riding the horses.
