Happy Anniversary to Us!

David and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. We decided to go on vacation to California.

Our first destination was Valencia. We went to Magic Mountain and got our fill of roller coasters. Then David took me on a more detailed walking tour of where he grew up. We had driven by his old neighborhood a few times, but this was the first time we had gotten out of the car and walked around. We ate at our favorite restaurant in Valencia, Grand Panda.

After dinner we drove to Santa Barbara. It's a beautiful drive through rolling hills, orange groves, vineyards, and orchards. In Santa Barbara we had a couple smoothies while walking on the beach and the pier.

The next day we drove to Solvang. Solvang is a little Danish community about 45 minutes north of Santa Barbara.

We enjoyed some Danish pancakes at a Danish Restaurant. They had multiple Danish bakeries, windmills, antique shops, a Christmas store, a musicbox/cuckoo clock store, and a not so Danish Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

It was a great little vacation and fun to celebrate our marriage together.

San Francisco

We went on vacation to San Francisco! Jimmy and Charity decided to join us to have a good time. First we went to the FUN. concert. It was good and we had a fun time together.
We also hit 100,000 miles on our car! We've put a lot of miles on our little car in the past 4 years. The next day we went to Alcatraz! We got poured on the whole time, but we were still able to see everything we wanted to. Of course we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe on Pier 39 and enjoyed the chance to escape the rain.
David and I went to the aquarium on the pier. They had some crazy jelly fish as well as chinchillas. Why they had chinchillas in an aquarium I do not know, but they did. David pretended to eat the sardines. He also petted a sting ray, shark, and giant star fish. I pet one of the giant star fish as well. We then checked out the rest of Fisherman's Wharf. We watched a few sea lions battle it out, ate some yummy churros, and checked out a few shops all in the rain.
That night we stopped at Ghirardelli. You can't really tell in that Ghirardelli picture but we are soaked. My jeans were wet up to my knees! The next night we rode a trolley into China Town where we had some really good Chinese food and enjoyed looking through a couple shops.
The next day thankfully it stopped raining. We did a photo op by the Golden Gate Bridge then drove across it to get to Muir Woods. We walked all over Muir Woods. The paths were a little muddy from the rain the day before, but there was also more water in the river and streams which was neat. It is amazing how tall and big those redwood trees become.
Overall we had a great trip! It was a lot of fun to spend time with Jimmy and Charity. It was also a much needed and nice break from work.

Engaged!

Nothing makes you feel older than when your little brother becomes engaged! Congratulations Adam and Kelly! We're so happy for you!
Kelly is such a sweetheart. We're excited for her to be a member of our family. And no offense Kelly, but this also means I won't be the shortest in the family anymore. :)

Other than that we've been pretty boring lately. We go to work, eat, sleep, and repeat. We've been able to get together with some good friends and party with family. We're enjoying our new home and being so close to Jimmy and Charity. I'm especially enjoying our decreased commute to work now that gas costs $3.71 per gallon! Ridiculous!
